Ubud seems to be very touristic, thats why little bit not real. And what you can do if you are in Bali? Sightseeing, mostly temples, having rest in pool and shopping. We decided that cycling is necessary activity for us during lazy days and we took tour Bali on Bike.
Bob - owner of company, got his name Bob for tourists taking first letters of the name of the company. He was our guide. Bob picked up us at the hotel at 8.15 a.m. First of all we had a short breakfast in cafe shop on coffee plantation, where we could also by tee, coffee and spices. Also we saw luwak, who produce the most expansive coffee in the world :)
The tour starts after viewing lake and mountain Batur. You go with bike always down the hills, so you don`t have to work. What you will see? Small villages with many small like family temples, great landscapes, and some local activity during trip like harvesting rice. You can also try it. The road is 90% out of big "highways", so you will see the scenery, that you will not see if you just take a taxi from Ubud to Denpasar.
After the trip we had a lunch in Bob`s house. Delicious thanks to Bob`s wife! We enjoyed our lunch and conversation about Balinese life almost 2 hours.
We were in hotel about 4 p.m. I would highly recommend Bali on Bike everyone who don`t want to bored in hotel.
