We were able to book the night before without any problems, were picked up promptly at the hotel and brought to Ubud and met "Bob." His English is quite good and as we drove with him further up the hills in Ubud he was able to pass on great amounts of information regarding the island, the lifestyle, and Hindu religion.
After a quick stop to check out a small farm and have teas, coffees, and breakfast, it was off to see the volcano and snap a few photos. From there, another ten minute car ride and then the bikes were assembled and the ride began.
At first a bit treacherous on the pothole-riddled roads higher in the hills, the ride became much easier as it continued. We rarely had to pedal since it is largely a downhill ride. We were able to simply sit back and enjoy the ride.
We stopped in a few different towns and temples and were told about the history and traditions and eventually had lunch at Bob's family home. The food was traditional Balinese and was delicious.
We were able to see plenty of other bike tour groups, but were ultimately very happy that we decided to go with Bali on Bike and would highly recommend to other travelers.
