We had a fantastic day with Bob and his team. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to see some amazing rice terraces, before being taken to a coffee plantation, where we sampled lots of different teas and coffees, and got some breakfast. We stopped off at Kintamani for some photos of Mount Batur, as well as being treated to some local mandarins by Bob. Then the fun really began. There were 9 in our group, of mixed abilities. We were kitted out with the bikes and helmets, as well as bottles of water, before setting off downhill. Not being the most athletic person, I was worried about covering 35 km, but needn't have bothered - there were a few uphills, but we travelled through small villages, larger towns and some off-roading. The team were fantastic - either stopping traffic so we could get through junctions easily, or stopping us when it was too busy. I felt incredibly safe the whole way. After 3 hours of cycling, the finale was lunch at Bob's house, cooked by his wife, and it was amazing. No shortage of food, or Bintang. It was also a great insight into life in Bali, especially given the massive amount of info passed on by Bob about local custom and traditions. Will recommend to anyone coming to Bali. Thanks Bob!
