Art western most tip of Bukit Peninsula, this is one of Bali's nine "directional" Kayangan jagat temples. The locations is dramatic, perched on the edge of a high cliff with a picturesque sunset view. The temple was first used for worship by the holy 11th century priest, Empu Kuturan, who came to Bali to bring religious law and to form Desa Adat (traditional villages). The area where the spectacular sunset can be viewed is filled with the scent of frangipani blossoms and is also the home of monkey.
Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one of Bali's important Sad Kahyangan temple, one of the nine major temples revered by the Balinese. It was erected by Danghyang Dwijendra, a great Balinese priest who established the present form of Hindu-Dharma religion in Bali. It is said that Dwijendra achieved maksa (enlightenment, or oneness with the godhead) while meditating in Uluwatu.
Most of Bali's regencies have pura luhur, high temples that are the focus of pilgrimages during the three or five-day Odalan anniversaries. Among these include Pura Tanah Lot and Goa Lawah, the bat cave temple. While not all pura luhur are situated on the coast, all are built in awe-inspiring location, often overlooking large bodies of water. One of the most picturesque pura luhur in Bali is Pura Luhur Uluwatu.
The temple is perched 70 meters (230ft) above the ocean on a sheer promontory. Some of the rocky precipices drop almost 100m (330ft) into the raging ocean below. Visitors to Uluwatu are provided with a ceremonial yellow sash to wear around their waist (after paying the entrance fee). The proper attire requires that the knees are not exposed. Those wearing shorts are required to wear a sarong. Visitors are also warned to put away any shiny objects including spectacles, jewellery, and so on, as these attract the monkeys that infest the area. (One of the people in our group lost her glasses to the monkeys.)
Located a few kilometers north of the ancient temple of Uluwatu, facing the vast Indian ocean. From the parking area one must descend down stairs and pass through long narrow gap of cliff before reaching the large waves make it one of the best places for surfing in all of Bali, as surfing lovers throughout the world have already discovered.
Once a lonely village on the road from Denpasar toward the Bukit Peninsula, Kuta is now a thriving tourist resort, popular mainly among the young. It is a popular beach for surfing although currents make it less suitable for swimming. Coast guards, however, are on constant duty during the day. Kuta faces toward the west offering beautiful sunsets. Accommodation ranges from international hotels to home stays.
The village abounds with restaurants, shops, discotheques and other tourist facilities. It is easier to find regular performances of Balinese music and dance in Kuta, staged specially for tourists, than anywhere else in Bali. Some performances are staged nightly. The village is ideal for meeting and mixing with other people, locals as well as visitors from abroad.
Kuta Art Market has a multitude of shops selling a wide variety of goods including, sarongs, handicrafts, jewelry, clothing, furniture and leather goods. You can find some good pieces if you look carefully and smart bargain.
Kuta Beach has attracted many travelers from around the world either for leisure or business. Lies 30 minutes drive from the provincial capital of Bali and is within a short drive from Bali International Airport. No comparison for Kuta Beach. The beach stretches along 8 kilometers with golden sands, gently waves and provides a suitable place for sunbathing, swimming and surfing. Various tourist services are offers by local people such as full body massage, learning to surf, simple hair coloring and curling, to attractive tattoos body signs.
Learning to surf
Many company offers surfing lesson and can be found along the main road of Kuta Beach, Legian Street as well as individual right on the beach. If you eager to surf but do not know what to do, then it is suggested to learn from the surfing company who will provide well trained surfing guides. Rates are varies from USD 35.00 to USD 50.00 per person per lesson. Do not forget to prepare surfing suits, just in case they do not provide one.
The surf clothing brands such as Surfer Girl, Bilabong, Volcom are easily find on Jalan Legian and shopping malls around Kuta and Legian.
Cheap surfing lesson is usually offered by beach boys including surf board but no insurance coverage on their price.
The waves are quite strong and high during a certain time of the day. It is recommended to swim between the red-yellow flags and keep swimming close to the beach. Underwater strong currents sometimes happens and can push you to the deepest area. Renting a body board is also suggested if you do not have swimming experience.
Other Activities and Services
As an international tourist resort, Kuta remains attractive for travelers to Bali. Local people still wants to sell something to visitors to Kuta Beach from traditional massage, fresh fruits, soft drinks, surfing lesson, souvenirs and many more.
If you do not want be disturbed, just answer " No, Thank you" or say in Indonesia " Tidak Terima Kasih". Once you bargain, they will try to get you buy. This will ruin your beach holiday so far.
This farm’s goal is to promote the survival of the green turtles, which are an endangered species. The farm is located next to Tanjung Benoa, near Nusa Dua and Jimbaran Bay. The shy turtles are kept in bamboo fences, so that they are safe from poachers. People are now encouraged not to kill the turtles for food, in order to ensure the survival of these creatures.
The place is a small delta mangrove forests covered, white sand shores, with a wave of calm, situated overlooking the sea recreation center Benoa Harbor. Because it has an intact ecological system, clean beaches, lush mangrove forests, then this place has been developed for breeding sea turtles.
At low tide you can cross over on foot on the sidelines of the mangrove trees of Tanjung Benoa, but at tide water, we had to cross by boat/ djoekoengs from Benoa harbor for about 10 minutes.
In addition to seeing a captive turtles, tourists who come here can see the different types of fighting cock, animals and wild birds and a small temple. As a tourist area, on this small island is also home to eat, shop for souvenirs and wildlife attractions show.
Nungnung is the name of a small village, 40 kilometers north of Denpasar with a height of 900 meters above sea level. This tourism object is located in Badung District evening. It lies about - about five miles before the bridge Tukad Bangkung known as the tallest bridge in Asia with a specific height of the pillars reached 71.14 meters.
in this village there is a waterfall with a height of 50 meters with large water discharge. to reach the location of such waterfalls we must trace hilly rice fields about 2 miles from the highway. Nungnung waterfall is one tourist attraction that must be visited when we went to Bali especially for people who love trekking tour, because to get to the location of this waterfall down the stairs that we have quite a lot of numbers, so we can get down to the river valley and can see the waterfall from close range.

NUNUNG Waterfall is a tourist area which has a fairly extensive parking facilities and access roads to the great waterfall, there's only a little derivative of the stairs - the stairs.

after walking about 20 minutes, we will arrive at the waterfall which has a fairly heavy discharge of water.
